Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard on which are six red and gold pieces for twenty moves; diagram numbered 269. To right of board, initial C decorated with knotted and scrolling foliate infilling terminating in animal head and with foliate ascender and descender. Left and lower margins decorated with scrolling foliate descender, with upper part terminating in dragon-like hybrid animal biting frame of board, and in lower part is perched bald hybrid man, with body of two-legged beast, looking toward bird.
