Miniature, column, left: Apostle Simon, with right hand holding saw and with left hand holding book, standing beside Apostle Jude, with right hand holding carpenter square, and with left hand raised; both nimbed. Behind them suspended on wall, writing tablet on which is leaf of pseudo-inscriptions. Figures beneath arch decorated with man, holding shield, battling beast, flanked by two figures, one nimbed (all in relief?), and in room with four windows and tiled floor. Miniature at beginning of Collect and continuing to First Lesson for Feast of Apostles Simon and Jude (10.28). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by two prophets, wearing hats, emerging from clouds, holding scrolls inscribed HOC EST PREC(EPTUM) and DE FIDE IGI(TUR) (right).
