Christ: before Pilate -- Surrounded by soldiers carrying spears, Christ, nimbed, hands bound by rope held by soldier, stands before Pilate, seated on canopied throne decorated with patterned hanging. Pilate extends right hand toward Christ and holds scepter in left hand. Three attendants look on. Dog, with collar, lies on floor beside base of throne.
Miniature and text framed by architectural border.
Initial D decorated with foliate ornament begins Prime of Long Hours of the Cross.
