Jerome, nimbed, wearing cardinal's hat and vestments, probably holding handle of knife with right hand, grasping blade with left hand, is seated on canopied throne, pseudo-inscription on back of throne, with desk on which is open book. Lion stands before him with right front paw on left knee of Jerome.
