Christ: bearing Cross -- Christ, nimbus as rays, wearing crown of thorns, with left shoulder supporting stem of tau-cross, partly collapsing, the other end of the stem held by Simon of Cyrene, wearing draped headgear, both among one of two tormentors, with left hand raised and with right hand holding object, possibly spear, emerging from crenellated city gate, the other with left hand holding rope bound around waist of the Christ, and with right hand raising club, sword fastened at waist.
At right, Veronica of Rome, nimbed, veiled, kneeling on ground, with both hands extending veil.
In background right, along path, pairs of horsemen and men, one carrying banner, and another group of men, holding spears all approaching Calvary, silhouettes of figures, raising crosses, two figures hanging on tau-crosses and one hanging from gallows.
