Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard with five red and gold pieces on squares lettered A-I; diagram numbered 270. To left of board, initial C decorated with scrolling foliate infilling terminating in animal head and with foliate ascender. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extension, with upper part terminating in dragon-like hybrid animal biting frame of board, and in lower part is leaping cat holding mouse in its jaws.
