Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard on which are four red and gold pieces on squares lettered A-S for nineteen moves; diagram numbered 268. To left of board, initial C decorated with knotted and scrolling foliate infilling and with foliate ascender. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extension, with upper part terminating in dragon-like hybrid animal biting frame of board, and in lower part are perched hybrid crane with its beak bitten and grasped by right paw of monkey, its left paw resting on stick.
