Christ: Crucifixion -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, and Evangelist John, nimbed, both with joined hands raised, flank Christ, with crossed rays as nimbus, wearing short loin cloth and crown of thorns, bleeding from wounds, affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INRI. In background stand many armored soldiers with spears. Miniature flanked by columns.
