Evangelist Mark, nimbed, wearing hood, is seated on throne, behind desk or easel leaning on pegs in arms of the throne, and attached with cord to back of the throne. Stylus case and furling scroll with pseudo-inscription hang over top edge of desk. Winged evangelist symbol (lion) reclines before him, resting left front paw on, and looking at, open book on floor.
Miniature and text framed on three sides by rectilinear bars of gold decorated with vine scroll. Margins decorated with border of vine scroll.
