Evangelist, John: preaching -- Of five men wearing hats, three with hands in sleeves, two look toward John, nimbed, gesturing. Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including campanula, strawberry, holly, grapes, thistle, cornflower, and daisy, and inhabited by wild man holding bow and arrow, and wild man holding spear with right hand and lifting with left hand small round shield (buckler) hanging from strap around neck. Text is first lesson in first nocturn for Matins on 5th Sunday after Easter
