David: told of Saul's Death, and Punishment of Amalekite -- Within landscape, Amalekite, pieces of armor draped over right arm, holding crown in right hand and spear in left hand, kneels on one knee before David, crowned, wearing armor, gesturing with hands, beside three attendants, including two soldiers, one holding standard decorated with harp.
In background, soldier (shown twice, raises sword above Amalekite, on ground, and grasps his left hand. David and second soldier look on.
Miniature and text framed by border decorated with foliate ornament and budding and full flowers, including pink, strawberry, and rose, and inhabited by two birds.
Decorated initial S begins Psalm 69 (Vulg., 68).
