Roman de la Rose: Envy -- Man, possibly author, stands, holding book or parchment in left hand and raising right forefinger toward Personification of Envy, wearing wimpled headdress, with right thumb touching little finger and supporting her head with left arm on arm of chair. Figure within gold frame decorated with gold ivy leaves. Marginal extension decorated with ivy leaves.
