Benedict of Montecassino: Scene, Monks return from Terracina -- Two tonsured monks, wearing habits, both with arms crossed on breasts, kneel before Benedict of Montecassino, nimbus with rays, tonsured and bearded, wearing monk’s habit, gesturing toward them. Scene in monastery garden with monstery facade and wall and two trees in background. Miniature within frame at end of Chapter 22 of Book II of Dialogues; Benedict of Montecassino’s monks return from Terracina and complain that the Benedict had not visited as promised.
