1) Apostle, James Major -- In initial E decorated with geometric ornament and diapered spandrels, Apostle James Major wears a pilgrim's hat and a mantle decorated with shells, holds a pilgrim's staff in right hand and a book in his left hand, and sits on a bench between two men kneeling with their joined hands raised in prayer.
2) Margins - Rectilinear bars decorated with interlace and foliage, and inhabited by a fox walking beside a cock, and a cat walking beside a mouse.
