Beginning of III John.
Evangelist, John: Letter II -- In upper compartment of decorated initial S is Evangelist John, nimbed, seated at desk and writing in open book with pseudo-inscription. Beside him is tonsured man holding scroll with pseudo-inscription in both hands.
Evangelist, John: boiled in Oil -- John, nimbed, with joined hands raised, stands in pot of water. He is flanked by tormentors, one with bellows and another holding bowl in his right hand.
Evangelist, John: Burial -- In lower margin is draped altar upon which is chalice with wafer (host). Beside it is coffin in which reclines Evangelist John, nimbed, with joined hands raised.
Beginning of Jude.
Apostle, Jude: preaching -- In upper compartment of decorated initial I is Jude, nimbed, with right forefinger and left hand raised. Beside him is figure, seated, resting head in right hand. Above is head of dove of Holy Ghost, cross-nimbed, emerging from clouds.
Apostle, Jude: Martyrdom -- In lower compartment of decorated initial I is soldier, wearing armor, raising sword in right hand and holding with left hand head of Jude, nimbed, kneeling with joined hands rasied.
In margin is dog, hybrid man, and nude musician playing trumpet.
