1) Apostles, Peter and John: sent to Samaria -- In initial D decorated with geometric ornament and and diapered spandrels, Evangelist John, nimbed, with his right hand raised, stands behind tonsured Apostle Peter, nimbed, with a book with one strap in his left hand, and his right hand raised toward a bearded Samarian gesturing, accompanied by two Samarians (Preaching scene).
2) Margins - Rectilinear bars decorated with interlace and foliage, enclosing four French heraldic shields, including Moreuil (one) and Hangest (two), bust of king, and heads of woman, wearing snood and headdress, and man, as couple, and inhabited by man snaring with decoy and birdcage, five birds including one on top of birdcage enclosing another, cock, stork?, dog with bell collar, and fox borne on shoulders by sheep.
