Miniature, upper left: 1) Tobias: mourned by Mother and Tobias: departing with Raphael -- Tobit, wearing hat, extends right hand and in left hand Anna resting head on right hand sits before Tobit next to At right, Tobias, carrying sack over right shoulder, grasps with left hand, right wrist of Raphael, wearing hat, raising left hand. Miniature, lower left: 2) Christ: Parable, Lost Money -- Woman, veiled, raising torch with right hand and touching left hand to breast, flanked by nine coins imprinted with crosses, fleur-de-lis and other heraldic devices. Miniature, upper right: 3) Saul: Marriage of Michal and Phalti -- Saul, crowned, stands flanked by Phalti and Michal, both look up toward him. Saul grasps with right hand, left hand of Phalti, and with his left hand, right hand of Michal. Miniature, lower right: 4) Virgin Mary: Coronation -- Christ, nimbed, crowned, raises right hand in blessing and with left hand hold cross-surmounted globe on His lap, beside Virgin Mary, nimbed, crowned over veil, with joined hands raised, both seated on throne. Miniatures are proofs for Bernhart Richel’s Spiegel der Menschlichen Behältnis (Basel: 1476) with biblical quotes, commentary and abbreviated extracts, written in German, for Chapters 35 and 36 (Virgin Mary: Coronation) of the Speculum Humanae Salvationis.
