Psalm 039 (Vulg., 038) -- Initial D of Dixi enclosing David, crowned, kneeling, with left hand raised indicating mouth before nimbed saint, possibly Nathan, with right hand raised and with left hand holding book, both against gold background and beneath three trefoil arches; the initial’s ascender extending across left, upper, and right margins, partly formed by serpent-like hybrid animal biting frame and by scrolling foliage; the descender extending across left, lower, and right margins terminating in foliage.
