Margin, right: Christ: Baptism -- God, nimbed, emerging from cloudy arc of Heaven above, lowers scroll inscribed HIC EST FILIUS MEUS DIL(ECTUS) from Matthew 3:17, and dove of Holy Ghost descends toward Christ, cross-nimbed, beside John Baptist, nimbed, wearing belted tunic, with left hand raised and with right forefinger indicating River Jordan in foreground; grassy mound. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by half figures of three angels, gesturing, emerging from clouds (upper, right and lower); half figure of cleric, wearing cap, gesturing, and bearded man, amid foliage (upper and lower right).
