Innocents: Massacre -- With his right hand extended, Herod the Great, crowned, holds sword in his left hand, beside black man with his left hand raised. Soldier, wearing chain mail and tunic, raises sword in his right hand, and with his left hand seizes infant held by his mother lying on ground; dismembered infants.
Scene within Gothic architectural frame decorated with cusps of foliate terminals, six French heraldic escutcheons, including Moreuil (two), Coeuvres (two), Count of Soissons (one), and Count of Grandpré (one) in medallions, and heraldic devices, including Hangest.
