standing on top of city gate of Jerusalem, inscribed IHERUSALEM, and defending it from attack (attachers shown on facing page); inscription UBI EXPUGNANS IHERUSALEM; to left, Jeremiah seated on stone, weeping; inscription IHEREMIAS LAMENTANS ALFABETO; above, to right, Zedekiah: blinded; and Zedekiah: Sons slain (II Kings 25:7) -- Man with rod putting out eyes of Zedekiah, hands and feet fettered.
